Welp Steve Jobs is dead. That happend.

Now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, this is a wildly interesting and informative business book that focuses a lot on the personalities of this trillion dollar company. It’s an oddly detailed and interesting dissection of Apple and it’s metamorphosis from a company lead by creators and engineers to a company lead by logisticians and aspiring fashionistas.

Johnny Ive is singularly impressive but ultimately tragic in his quest to find himself through simplicity which ultimately results in unsustainable complexity while Tim Cook apparently lives like a monk and operates like a one man quantum FedEx. Also, you will not believe how much time is spent on the specifics of the bezier shape of an iPhone. The dichotomy is delicious, the details are delectable, and man if this book ain’t as nutritious as an actual apple. Not only do you leave this book a more informed person about Apple, but also a more informed person about the world around you along with fascinating insights about the growth of tech, luxury, and design in the 2,000s.
