READ WITH YOUR BROS

Join a group of intelligent young bros and we’ll embark on a literary adventure together.

What is the BBC?

We know what you’re thinking but it’s not that.

BBC stands for “Bro Book Club”

For example: “Can’t wait to get together with the bros… I could really use some BBC to clear my head.”

Or: “This BBC is really helping me broaden my horizons and see the nuances of the human story and experience…. I’m not religious but… I just woke up.”

Or: “My mother loves BBC.”

Okay, but what is it really?

We’re a group of human people in L.A. County who meet once a month to hang and discuss books that are fun, challenging, insightful, heartfelt, educational, and everything in between. And no, it’s not just for men.

Bro Book Club was started by a people who loved reading interesting books and wanted to have interesting conversations with interested people. We laugh, we share insights, we bullshit, and we grow as humans.

FAQ

  • How do I join?

Text one of us or email the club at brobookclubber@gmail.com. You can also participate in our public subreddit. If you are invited to a meet up, just show up having read the book. Boom. You’re in.

  • I don't read a lot. Isn't a book every month a lot?

If you spend 20 minutes a day, you’ll get through a book a month.

Trust us. You can do it. Your brain will thank you.

  • I'm more of an audio learner. Are audiobooks fine?

    100%.

All the books we pick are available on Audible. The average book is about 10 hours. Pro tip: you can listen at 1.2-1.4X speed and still get all the info.

  • Will there be... stuff to drink?

If you bring it, we’ll drink it. Also, we normally meet at bars. Also, if you don’t want to drink that’s cool too. This ain’t a frat.

  • Am I a Bro?

Do you like reading interesting books and talking about them? Are you a human person? If you answered yes to both of these questions then YOU ARE A BRO.

You do not need to be cis, straight, male, a drinker, a person who owns a tank top or chubbies, an actual brother, or heteronormative in any way. If you identify as a bro, you are a bro.

  • Any rules?

BE A BRO, NOT A DICK.

More specifically, we have a Bro Code: Don’t be a dick. Don’t be racist or sexist or any other -ist. Don’t be homophobic or transphobic or xenophobic or any other -phobic. We started BBC because we value a variety of viewpoints and love thinking about the world in surprising, different, and challenging ways. If you go against that, you are not a bro. On Tuesdays we wear mulberry.
